James Rance Brown, 88, of 27 Monte Vista Terrace, Candler, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Andy Jackson and Mary Jane Lane Brown and husband of the late Ollie Wells Brown, who died in 1996. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Savannah Brown and four brothers, Edward, Berle, Homer and Arnold Brown.
Mr. Brown was a retired employee of American Enka with 28 years service.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Holder of Candler; two sons, James L. Brown and Douglas
Ray Brown of Candler; a brother, Bill Brown of Leicester; five grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.
Services will be 11 am Thursday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Karen
Miller. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
