Dear Penny–Mabel and I send our best wishes to you and family–Bob and I were in Technical Sservice at Enka from 1960 to 1968 when I left to go to Madison. You may not remember but you folks came to our house (at Parkway Forest) a couple times. I have many fond memories of working with Bob while we were in the ‘Bull Pen'(in the Rayon Plant area) working for Mr Zellner, and then later for Mr Godehn(sp) in the
Technical Dept. I saw Bob once in recent years at one of the Enka ‘get togethers’, and we had a good time talking about the old times we had spent at Enka. He was a great guy and I will always cherish my memories of him–Best wishes to you and family–Lloyd and Mabel Baird
Dear Penny, Jeannette, and Jim and families,
Our thoughts are certainly with each of you in the death of a very special husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was such a fine person and dedicated Christian. He will be missed by so many of us. The funeral service was such a reminder of Bob and his goodness. The grandchildren did a great job in their tributes to him as did Dot Goulas.
Jeannette and family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. My mother passed away a year ago, and it’s still difficult to accept. She was very fond of you.
The first year is the hardest; my prayer is God will comfort you and your loved ones. Know your father is now safe with our Heavenly Father and knows no pain or fear.
Penny and family,I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you. If there’s anything I can do, don’t hesitate to ask. With love, Donna Clark
Dear Penny and Family…We were so sad to hear of Bob’s passing. Please know we are thinking of you and extending our Heartfelt Sympathy. Our Neighborhood will not quite be the same; for he has been of instrumental guidance of every day life here in our own Woodside Hills. Not for this alone he will be missed but mostly for his ‘Every Day Common Courtesy to his Fellow Man.’
You are in our Thoughts…
Mary and Joe
Bob and I were a part of the ‘Watauga Four’ as Harvey Carpenter named us. Recently learned of Bob’s illness. We will remember the family in our prayers.

We had the privilege of knowing Bob as his neighbors for the last five years. Always helpful, kind & generous is how we would describe him. Most of all, he exhibited a real faith in God that is a testimony to God’s love & grace to us by and through His Son, Jesus Christ. His memory in our community will be that of a cornerstone.
We love you Ms. Penny.

Dear Jim, Cindy, and family, We’re at a loss for words, but hope you have comfort in knowing your Dad is with Jesus (2 Cor 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord). Our prayers are with you. Sincerely, Warren and Kathryn Child
