Margaret "Jane" Mitchell, 77, of Fairview, died peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2013.
Jane was a loving wife, devoted mother and cherished grandmother.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lula Mae Mix; and a sister, Thelma Wilkinson.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Les Mitchell; children, Steve Mitchell of Asheville, Michael Mitchell and his wife Malia of Lutherville, Maryland; a sister, Joanne Bridges of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; and three grandsons, Kyle, Luke and Alec Mitchell of Lutherville, Maryland.
Jane will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on August 22, 2013.
Family will receive friends at their home on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 2-4pm.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

So sorry to learn of Jane’s passing. She was always so sweet and kind to me during my years with Buncombe County. I miss getting to see you and just know that I will be holding you close in thoughts during the coming days.
i had the privilege of knowing Jane for a short time but the time I knew her she was always very caring & A very dear person.I know her family will miss her greatly.I will keep her family in my prayers & for healing & the Peace that only God can give.Herston owenby

Mitch, So sorry to hear of Jane’s passing. What wonderful memories we made those years we were neighbors and the boys were very young. Our times of laughter together will always remain with us. Give the boys ‘hugs’ from our family and prayers to all..
