Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Spry and spunky til the end, Jane Gatewood squeezed a ton of love and life into her 99.5 years. She taught me a lot about friendship and the simple pleasures that make a life worth living. I will miss her contagious laugh, her mischievous smile, and her generous spirit. Farewell, my sweet friend.

  2. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in all the loving memories you and your family shared with her.

  3. I’ll always remember Aunt Jane. She always kept us in line when we were kids visiting Grandad in woodleaf. A wonderful woman I didn’t get to see as often as I would have liked. I know she is with all her family in Heaven. God Bless you Aunt Jane you will truly be missed.

  4. Condolences Bill to you and all her family at this sad time of her passing. What a blessing to have our MOMS for such a long time and know that my Mom loved Jane’s frequent phone calls and often the 3 times a week exercise at Harvest House for a lot of years in a row they shared together. Bless her life and her new life!

  5. God bless her!! What a legacy and such a sweet personality!! Sorry for Family loss but she has no doubt earned her Heavenly reward!

  6. It was always a joy to see Mrs. Gatewood at church because we knew she was always going to hug on us and ask about our sons. She kept our children when they were in the Mother’s Morning Out program at First Baptist and also presented our youngest son to the congregation at his dedication service. I (Craig) had to occasionally remind Mrs. Gatewood to slow her Buick down which she found to be very funny. She was always passing us on the interstate. She was so full of love for others and we hold special memories of her in our hearts forever. ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant’. We are praying over her family to have His peace at this time.

  7. When we came to First Baptist in 1960 to begin our ministry as Associate Pastor and pastor of Revell Chapel we soon met Jane. She helped care for our son, Charles when he was born and for the several years we were in Asheville. Such a delightful lady. Would you believe we have kept in touch through all these years by way of occasional meetings at the church and our Christmas greetings…..even this past Christmas we had a card signed: Love and Hugs, Jane. Bill, we know you will miss your mom. She was a terrific lady.God bless you and your family.
