Janice Stroupe Overman

Janice Kay Stroupe Overman, 61, of Asheville, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Edgar Stroupe and Mary Cleo Miller Stroupe. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Henry “Buddy” Stroupe.

Janice is survived by her husband, Kerwin Overman; one daughter, Becky Ramsey (Dwayne); one granddaughter, Savannah Martin (Chris); one grandson, James Ramsey; one great-granddaughter on the way, Emily Elizabeth Kay Martin; two sisters, Sandra Duncan and Kathy Higdon (Joe); three nephews, Jason Jones, Joey Higdon (Melony) and Justin Jones; one niece, Tanya Arrowood (Stacy) and her mother-in-law, Ruth Overman, as well as many extended family and friends.

Janice was a 1976 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and was employed at Bussmann for 22 years and Kearfott for 10 years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and loved being at home with her family.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 19 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, October 18 at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. She will be interred at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at a later date.
