Asheville – Jean Cole Williams, 78, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Laurels of Hendersonville.
Mrs. Williams was born March 10, 1934 to Era Robinson Cole and the late Edward Ray Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Williams. She worked in Sears's children's department for over 35 years and was a member of East Asheville United Methodist Church.
Jean is survived by her mother, Era Robinson Cole; a son, David Williams of Asheville; a daughter, Dawn Cline and her husband Steve and their son Britt of Travelers Rest; a sister, Brenda Nybro and her husband, Ray of Arden; three brothers, Edward Cole and his wife, Ann of Newberry, SC, John Cole and his wife, Anita of Dysartsville, NC and Kenneth Cole and his wife, Marilyn of Arden and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial will follow at Roberts Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Jean was my classmate at Leicester High School. I remember her as a beautiful,kind and loving person. May God bless and comfort her family at this difficult time.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to you. I was so sorry to hear about Jean. She was such a very sweet and kind lady. I got to know her through working for Mountain Mobility and taking her home every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from IFB for several years up until her retirement. I feel blessed for having known her.

david and dawn sorry about the loss of jean she was a wonderful and caring lady and mother i will always remeber going to the mall and talking to her she never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face she was a wonderful lady and god caring woman we have a beautiful angel in heaven i always remember her sorry david and dawn may you find everloving peace in god and guide you through your times in loss of a loved one god bless take care and be strong
