Jerry M. Woody, 64, of Asheville, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at the VA Medical Center.
A native of Asheville, Mr. Woody was a son of the late Lawrence L. and Bertie Mae Collins Woody. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie W. Weatherman and three brothers, Frank Woody, Fred Woody and Jack Woody.
Mr. Woody was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Strawberry Hill Press.
He is survived by a daughter, Renee Woody; two sisters, Judy W. White of Columbia, SC and Elizabeth W. Oxner of Gladstone, VA; four brothers, Elmer Woody of Asheville, Robert Woody of Murphy, Kelly W. Woody of Altamont Springs, FL and Lawrence L. Woody of Alexander, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 2 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Melba Banks officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Western Carolina Veterans’ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
