Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I’ve always had a great respect for Jim. We served a short time together in the National Guard. His brother-in-law, the late Robert and Betty Buckner Drake are my uncle and aunt. My mother is Ruth McFee, Roberts twin sister.
Best wishes to you all at this time of sadness.

  2. My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you. I always had the utmost respect for Jim and thought an awfully lot of him. We shared some wonderful memories.

  3. Melody and Jimmy,
I am so sorry about your loss. While this will be a very difficult time in your life, I hope you will find comfort in the many friends you both have and know how much they care for you. I am one of those. Call if anything can be done for you from SHV. Patsy Higdon

  4. To the family,
I would like to express my heart felt condolences to you during this time. Chief J.J. was very special to me during my time as Chief of Haw Creek Fire Department. Even though I came through the ranks as a volunteer before a I stared with the AFD as a contract firefighter, he was ALWAYS very supportive and treated me as a equal. We spent many hours just talking and I will always remember him for that. I will really miss him. You are in my thoughts and Prayers
    Charlie Watson

  5. Danny and Cathy,

We are so sorry that you are experiencing the loss of your dad. Know that we are loving on you and praying for you very much. We love you both and feel blessed that we have each other.

    Gregg and Kelly

  6. I’m sorry to read about your father’s passing. I lost my father in ’85 to cancer and then my mother died this past Feburary. It’s really hard going on without them, but knowing they lived a good and full life is something we can be proud of. I’m truly sorry for your loss and will be thinking of you. See you around soon.

  7. Melody, Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry I could not be at the services for your Father-in-Law. Love, Gardner Bridges

  8. Danny and Cathy,
I am so sorry for your dad’s passing. I’m sure it’s hard being so sudden. I also apologize for not being able to be at the services. I wish you and your mom and family peace in the coming months and our love to you all.
    Love you,
    Randy, Khrista and Colin

  9. Sadness comes in so many forms, but
the death of a friend is high on the
list. Jim and his family were subscribers on our newpaper route from 1952 – 1969, so we knew them on
    a ‘busines’ level.
Howeverr, when I was gathering informaton on the Asheville Fire Department for the Old Buncombe County Genealogy Society, Jim allowed me to copy his documentation on how he became a fireman for Asheville. He also
    provided much information that could
    not be found elsewhere.
His knowledge of this stage of his life is at OBCGS for anyone who wishes to read it, to learn more
    about Jim.
Sincere sympathy to his wife, Sara,
    and the children, Wilma

  10. Dad we miss so much. Our lives will never be the same without you. I know God is using you for something big in heaven . I am so proud that God have me a father like you. Mom misses you so much . We will see you again someday. That will be an awesome time. I love you and think of you everyday of my life. Your son Jimmie Causey.
