Jimmy Lee Hyatt, 59, of Leicester, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Daisy Maltry Warren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Coleman. Mr. Hyatt was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife, Debra Embler Hyatt; daughters Lisa Hyatt Peffer and husband Mayson, and Amanda Nash Kabore and husband Fabrice; son Jimmy Lee Hyatt, Jr. and partner Lindsay Hays; eight grandchildren, Dominique and Jordan Hyatt, Brooks, Nick, Ethan, and Olivia Peffer, and Nicholas and Jason Kabore; sisters Shirley Galloway and husband Michael, and Carolyn Hyatt; and brothers Johnny Hyatt and wife Mary Lou, and Dale Warren and wife Debbie. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Asheville Family Church, with Pastor Rolf Woodard officiating. Interment will follow at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asheville Family Church, 530 New Leicester Highway, Asheville, NC 28806. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
