Joan Norris Buckner, 80, of Candler, died on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Buckner was a daughter of the late Henry Llewelynn and Mary Kathleen Haney Norris.
Mrs. Buckner was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde A. Buckner; daughters, Karen Bowen and husband Jeff, and Kathleen Miller; sons, Jeff Buckner and wife Wanda, and Mike Buckner and wife Kathy; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service for Mrs. Buckner will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Tiller officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Thinking about Clyde and the family during this difficult time. Joan and I worked together at Square D and I always enjoyed our chats and her sense of humor. She was a classy lady!
