Rest In Peace! You will never be forgotten!
I worked with Johnny in 1968 at Bell’s Drive Inn in Biltmore. He was a great guy and a good friend.Rest in peace John.
Dear family of Johnny Powers, please take peace and comfort in knowing that our Johnny is in the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior who he lived and died for. Great man that I admired very much. He and his dad will have a lot to talk about. Bill And Mary Dot Waddell
Rest in peace and rise in glory. Many wonderful memories of Roberson High and the amazing Class of 67 reunions.
The right words are hard to find for a man like John, I know when he gets home all his Marine family that has passed before him will be waiting to welcome him home just like all his family and friends that have passed. I also hope he will be there to welcome the rest of us home one day.
Will miss your mini sermons, we had on Family.
A true Patriot, thank you for your Service.
Prayers to the Family

Peggy, So sorry for your loss. It sounds like he was a man of God and that is wonderful. I lived in Hendersonville from 2011 and recently moved back to Tennessee. I would have loved to visit the church there but did not know he was a pastor in the area. God Bless you and your family.

We are so sorry for your loss. Words are not adequate at this time. There is grace available to help you through this time and the days ahead. Jesus is always with us and now is a good time to cling to him. Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints”. Precious meaning the details are greatly watched over. He is watching closely right now. John has touched so many lives. He was and is a great blessing. I have great memories of the time our family was at Pathway. I loved teaching there with my boys at the school. We had spiritual growth, academics and fun. God Bless You and the rest of your family. We will all be together in heaven someday. It will be so wonderful.
Aloha,
Ron, Trish, Micah, and Michael Jonathan Mount
Johnny, I love you so much and I will miss you. You are a wonderful Cuz!
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the Faith.” this Bible verse clearly mirrors the life John lived.
“May John’s Soul be bound to the source of all existence and eternity”
We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
God Bless each of you
John I will miss you just knowing you are not here to talk to if I needed to talk to you but oh what a shouting time you are having in that wonderful heaven with family, friends and the one who I know you could not wait to see JESUS, love you my dear cousin and know I will see you soon
Dearest Peggy,
My heart hurts for you and your family. Johnny was a much loved man and loved much in return. May God give you strength, peace and comfort like you have never known at this time. And to Garnell, Pam, Tommy and Mike, I can’t even imagine Lola and Tom’s joy when Johnny stepped into their presence! Bree, hold close to the cherished memories of all the fun times growing up and the happiness your beautiful children gave their Grandad. God Bless you all and keep you in the palm of His Hand!

Peggy, our deepest sympathies to you and Bree. I remember golfing with John many times, and what a joy he was to be around. Lynne and I will never forget his kindness in marrying us, a memory that will stay with us forever. He was a kind and generous man and friend.
Peggy, it truly hurts to lose the one we love the most. Wishing you peace and love as you move forward. John was very special and he will surely be missed. Fondly, Jean Hendrix
John has received his well deserved crown. He fought many battles during his life here, but he never gave up. He has won them all.I had the honor of competing with him in sports in high school and he was great teammate and an even better person. Go rest high on that mountain JP
Sad to hear of John’s passing, but find comfort knowing he lived a full life and left an example for all of us, to fight the good fight of faith. I am so thankful that I had the privilege to send my son, Jeremy, to Pathway and know that he received an eternal impartation under John’s leadership. I appreciate the father figure most of all. My prayers and comfort to his loving family.
I am so sorry to hear about John. I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt he is walking around heaven with Jesus. God give all of you peace and comfort during this difficult lose for your family.
Peggy, you and Johnny have meant so much to so many, God bless you during this season of sadness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! Doug and Rebecca Huntley
