John Calvin Bailey

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late W.H. and Mary Thomas Bailey and was a retired employee of American Enka with 44 years of service.  He was an Army Veteran of W.W. II, an avid golfer and bowler.  He was a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Ingle Bailey; two daughters, Janice Cutshall and her husband Rex of Fletcher, Nancy McBrayer and her husband Richard of Asheville; three sisters, Doll Hyatt of Candler, Tennie Robinson of Candler and Madge Cooper of Asheville; 4 grandchildren, Chari, Staci, Meredith and Mallory.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with the Revs. Cecil Fox and Emile Wolfardt officiating.  Interment will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
