Barbara, just want you to know that I’m thinking of you and your family with my heartfelt sympathy. It has been a long time since I’ve seen or talked to you.
I grew up next to John in Spruce Pine and have fond memories of all the Smith family. My sympathy to all of you
We are so sorry for your loss. We have fond memories of John threw the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
You are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope this message will bring you some comfort:
Togetherness
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolutely unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is past, nothing is lost,
One brief moment, and all will be as it was before–
Only better, infinitely happier, and forever-
We will all be one together with God.

Barbara, we pass on our sincere regrets for your loss. John was always friendly to speak with and I know he wished he could do more in his later years; but he kept a great attitude; it encouraged me at that time when I was having some troubles. My last visit with him was memorable; I wish I could do it again.
We love you,
Wayne and Debbie Stoia

If I had been in town I would have been there because he sure was a good friend to me. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know. I really was sorry to hear this and am thinking of you all.
