Johnny A. Harrin, 64, of 423 State Street, Asheville, went to be with Jesus Thursday, October 17, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Harrin was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Roosevelt T. and Lou Emma Warren Harrin. He was the owner and operator of Johnny’s Trim Shop. He was a loving husband and wonderful father and Papaw and is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Piercy Harrin; one daughter Claudette Hall and three sons Johnny Ray Harrin, David C. Harrin and C. Vincent Harrin, all of Asheville; two sisters, Edith Shipman of Waynesville and Rosalee Smith of Candler; two brothers, Jim Harrin of Fletcher and Gene Harrin of Asheville; eleven grandchildren, Renee Harrin, Cristy Harrin, Michael Harrin, Johnny Ray Harrin, Jr., Lacy Hall, Phelicia Harrin, Josh Harrin, Tori Harrin, Zoe Harrin, Luke Sheppard and Heather Hendrix; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  5. I didn’t know Mr. Harrin personally, but I know/knew Vincent and David, way back in the day. I also know the pain of losing parents. I’m so sorry for your loss. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
