Johnny Raymond Redmond

A native of Asheville, he graduated from Reynolds High School and served in the Army Airborne, 504th Infantry, Fort Bragg, until July, 1967. He was the owner of Redmond’s Landscape Services, serving the Asheville area.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Redmond; one daughter, Anita Cameron and her husband Bob of Candler; his mother Elizabeth Harris Redmond of Oakley; two brothers, Bill Redmond of Huntsville, Alabama and Joe Redmond of Asheville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and many wonderful family and friends.
Graveside services will be 4:00 pm Friday at Cane Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Hileman, pastor of Oakley United Methodist Church, officiating.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 PM Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
Just happened upon this site for Groce Memorials, & was deeply shocked to see Johnny’s name. Please accept our sincere condolences. We thought a lot of Johnny. He was a really good man. We missed you both & have thought of you often.
