ASHEVILLE – Jonathon was from Asheville and was the loving son of his father, Keith Shelton of Hendersonville, and his mother and step-father, Penny and Allen Owenby of Asheville. His family also includes his brother, Tyler Storm of Asheville, his love, Rebecca Gowan of Fairview; his grandparents, Buddy and Rita Shelton of Hendersonville; and uncles and aunts, Rob and Jamie Carter and Joe and Wendy Wicklund.
Jonathon attended A.C. Reynolds High School and was a high honors student. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

After all this time I just found this obituary and memorial tribute to our Jonathon. Such a joy and light in all the lives he touched,
I remember very vividly Keith & Penny placing their newborn son (the spitting image of his father at that age) in my arms on their way home from his hospital discharge.
I watched him grow, as I did Keith all these years and cannot believe his life was so short lived.
I have shared in the grief and sorrow of his family, especially Keith, Buddy .Reita, Jamie & her family.
I know that he is in a better place and that his Grandpa Buddy is now with his ‘Johnny-Cakes!
With fond and bitter sweet memories of you dear Johnny.
