Asheville Butterfly TrailJudy Melissa Williams Naomi, 67, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, Judy was the daughter of the late Billy C. Williams and Cleo Cooper Ayers.
Surviving is her husband, Kerry Tom Naomi; son, Chad Angel (Virginia); and grandchildren, Chloe and Colton Angel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Naomi will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Brown will officiate.
Mrs. Naomi will lie in repose from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, during which time her family will be present.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buncombe County Humane Society, 16 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC 28806.

I love you so much nana. I’m so grateful for the time i spent with you. I will never forget the nights I spent over at your house, playing Trouble and watching movies with you, staying up way too late. I will miss getting to hear your voice when I walk through the door to your house, getting to sit on the porch and talk to you about anything and everything. You were such a bright light in our lives and i can’t wait to see you again someday. Until we meet again, I love you nana.

I still keep thinking this is a nightmare. Judy was such a special person, I loved her dearly. Praying for you Chad as you were her heart, she loved all of her family so much. Our loss is definitely Heaven’s gain. Thank God for our eternal salvation and knowing we will see her again! Love and prayers to all!
This was a total shock to me to here of Judys passing,Kerry,Chad and family GOD will comfort each one of you because HE knows the hurt you’re going through.I will keep y’all in my prayers I know Judy will be missed dearly,I know I will miss her,she was a proud mama and grandmama she loved her family!
