Kathleen Denise Plumley

December 24, 1959 ~ January 20, 2025
Born in:
West Chester, Pennsylvania
Resided in:
Arden, North Carolina
God welcomed another beautiful soul into his arms on January 20, 2025, who lived by the Blessed name Kathleen Denise Plumley, or “Kathy” to those who knew her well.
Mother she was, but also a talented singer and guitar player who just loved to have fun with it for no other reason than she could. And no one would be caught without their head sticking around in her kitchen! She LOVED to cook! And in doing so shared her knowledge of cooking to us all. One that we can hold memories for every time we prepare it again and again.
Her laughter was infectious in that she could make anyone smile from across a room. Even going to far as to wrangle others into her mischievous antics. With a joyous smile and a humor that was sometimes questionable, she could always win your heart.
But the thing that struck anyone about her best was how generous and caring she was for anyone or anything. Be it lending a hand to anyone who asked, tending to the local wildlife, or giving to the local animal shelters.
Forever loved and survived by her fiancé, Douglas Alderman Prentice, together for 23 wonderful years. She is also survived by siblings, Curtis Eugene Vattilana and wife Laura, Carmella Maria McGee, Teresa Anne Lyons and husband Chris, as well as half-brother, Michael Townsend. As well, she is survived by her three children, Gary Lee Plumley Jr. and wife Cassie, Christina Marie Plumley, and Laurie Lynn Plumley; and three wonderful grandkids, Victoria Layne Bledsoe, Evangelena Mae Plumley and baby Elowyn Elizabeth Plumley.
She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Vattilana; mother, Elizabeth Naomi Conner; and a brother, William F. Vattilana, Jr.
The family will have a small private gathering of closest loved ones and friends.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to donate anything please contribute to your local Red Cross for the outstanding effort they give to us all each and every day.
Mom, this is our message to you, from the three of us and everyone who loved you, THANK YOU. We already miss you terribly. We will love you for eternity. You have taught each of us to love, how to be brave and strong, and how to listen to people. You are and will forever be our hero. May you find eternal peace.
God has you now and we will see you later. Love all of us. Our prayers are for you and all those who were lucky enough to have touched your soul.
