L. Henry Thompson
February 11, 1929 ~ January 9, 1999
L. Henry Thompson, 69, of 73 Brown Lynch Rd.,
Candler, died Saturday, January 9, 1999 at his residence.
A native of Buncombe County he was the son of the late
J. Manley and Carrie Penland Thompson. He was a retired
carpenter and worked in maintenance at BASF.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Peggy Warren
Thompson; a daughter Lori Maney; son Ron Thompson;
sister Ginger Thompson; and two grandchildren Brittany and
Brandon Maney all of Candler.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Mount
Pisgah Baptist Church of which he was a member. The
Reverend Bobby Winebarger will officiate with burial following
in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-8:30
pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home, where the body will
remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the
service.
