Landon Henry, 20, of Asheville died July 3, 2016. He was born in Atlanta in 1996 and grew up in Asheville. He was the son of Kate and Roger Henry of Asheville. He attended Christ School and was a 2014 graduate of Asheville High School. As an AHS Wrestler, he was a 4x Varsity Letterman and Team Captain his senior year, qualifying for the 3-A State Wrestling Tournament. He also previously played Varsity Lacrosse for the Asheville Empire and was a current member of the Asheville Lacrosse Club. He is survived by his parents, Kate and Roger Henry; his sister, Riley Henry; his aunt, Anne Roberts, all of Asheville; his aunt and uncle, Florence Henry and Field Coxe of Atlanta; his aunt and uncle, Lisa and Joe Henry of Clayton, GA; and various cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Cathedral of All Souls in Biltmore Village. The Very Rev. Todd Donatelli will officiate. A reception will follow. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family. Landon was an avid outdoorsman who loved playing Frisbee golf, the French Broad River and especially hiking off the Blue Ridge Parkway. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation https://www.brpfoundation.org/donate or a local conservation group of your choice.
