Lanelle Israel Stamey, 86, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014, at Aston Park Health Care Center
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse L. Israel, Sr. and Sydna Regan Israel
She was also preceded in death in by her husband, Jones Lee Stamey, Sr., in 1981.
Mrs. Stamey retired from Asheville Manor in 2004.
She is survived by son Jones Lee Stamey, Jr., daughters Diane Naughton and husband John, and Darlene Silvers and husband Lee; five grandchildren, Dylan Stamey, Layla Alexander, Lindsay Callaway, Morgan Huettel, and Lisa Silvers; five great-grandchildren; one brother, and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Lynn was such a warm, wonderful friend. She was so good to us when we first moved here and our friendship grew over the years. My boys loved to visit and spend time with her as well. They were very sad to hear that she had passed. I send my love to all of you. Please call if I can do anything to help.
