Larry Wayne Barnwell, 60, of Arden, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Lawrence Nathan Barnwell and Ruth Woods Barnwell. He is survived by his wife, Tammy C. Barnwell; two daughters, Mindy Barnwell and Jessica Hume and her husband, Jeremy; two sons, Tim Barnwell and his wife, Susanna and Chad Barnwell, as well as three grandchildren, Trinity, Eli and Emmett. Larry was a loving and Christian family man who enjoyed giving his time and service to others. Being in his presence you could feel the love of The Lord. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Lake Hills Church, 370 Lake Drive, Candler, NC 28715. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM on Tuesday at the church. Memorial donations may be made in Larry's name to Lake Hills Church Disaster Relief Funds, 370 Lake Drive, Candler, NC 28715. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  3. I worked with Larry At Nypro for 14 years. I was saddened to hear of Larry passing away suddenly. He showed the love of Christ by helping others and always being upbeat and positive, Larry left a positive impact on his co-workers and everyone enjoyed being around him, not to mention his since of humor too, made your day better.

  7. I was very saddened by the passing of Larry. I worked with him at Nyrpo for many
    years and it was a blessing to have known him. He loved his family with a passion.
    If anyone was a Christian and loved the Lord, Larry was at the top of the list!
    He was always the same no matter what was on his mind. I will miss him very much!

  9. Larry is in my family by marriage what seemed to be a hundred years ago. He has always been a great father to two of my cousins, Tim and Mindy. I had not seen him in many years but his reputation of being a strong christian and fantastic and loving father was everlasting. I am sorry for those who he has left behind. I know Larry is dancing
    in Kingdom!
