Leon H. Connor

Leon H. Connor, 82, of Luther Road, Candler, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the VA Medical Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Steve and Meada Bridges Connor. Mr. Connor proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy in WW II and the Korean War. He retired in 1980 from the VA Medical Center, where he served as administration officer. He was also a member of the VFW #891. He is survived by one daughter, Geraldine Beddingfield and her husband, Tommy, of Skyland; one son, Ronald Connor, of Fletcher and two grandchildren. A military graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Pleasant Hill UMC Cemetery conducted by the Buncombe County Memorial Veterans Council.
