Lillian Green Kilby, 89, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. Lillian was born in Bourbon County, Kentucky and she had been a resident of Arden for the past 50 years. She was a daughter of the late Clifford and Anna Schaffer Green and was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kilby in 1980; four siblings, Bob, Jim, Amos and Eleanor Green and one grandson, Dewy Kilby. She was a member of the Words of Life Tabernacle and a former employee of Magnavox-Phillips. Lillian is survived by daughters, Helen K. Marks of Arden and Barbara (David) Pierce of Kentucky; sons, Harold (Paulette) Kilby and Frank (Linda) Kilby, both of Kentucky, Keith (Barbara) Kilby of Arden, Eugene (Rhonda) Kilby of Candler and Keith Wayne Kilby, Jr. (Andrea L.) of Candler; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren, with two more due in September. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Betty Sharpe of Kentucky and brothers, Billy (Lula Mae) Green of North Carolina and Wendell Green of Kentucky. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Interment will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road. Memorials may be made to the Food Pantry, c/o Words of Life Tabernacle, 815 Glenn Bridge Road, Arden, NC 28704.

    I am so sorry to learn of your mother’s death. I did not learn of the arrangements until it was too late to attend either or I would have come. Lillian was something special. She made me laugh. My love and prayers to all of you.

  5. Friend Eugene and Rhonda, God Bless u both, Lil and Frank was great people, so great they do not make them anymore, Eugene and Keith, you had more Mom and Dad than many, you can boast freely, and I would be in the cheering section
