Linda Ann Whitson

      Linda Ann Becktell Whitson, 47, of 175 Youngs Cove Road,
Candler, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998 in the Hospice Solace Center.
      A native of Michigan City, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late
Robert and Cecila Hathoot Becktell and was also preceded in death by a
son, Davey Brewer.  She was the co-owner of Sports Marketing.
      She is survived by her husband, Jeff Whitson; two daughters, Katie
Brewer and Beth Wiseman of Candler; three sisters, Karen Kalkirtz of
Michigan City, Ind., Janet Sullivan of Campbell, Calif., Susan Drost of
Bloomington, Ind. and three grandchildren.
      Services will be 11 am Saturday in the chapel of Groce Funeral
Home conducted by Monsignor John J. McSweeney.  Interment will be in
Pisgah View Memorial Park.
      The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 Friday at the funeral
home and following the graveside, family and friends will be received at
the home of Linda and Jeff Whitson.
