Linda Hope Dyches, of Asheville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 14, 2014.
Linda was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives. Upon moving to Asheville, she became a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. She had also previously volunteered at the Chatham Nursing Home in Savannah, GA, starting their first volunteer program.
After raising her family, she graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in social work. Linda was always willing to help those in need, particularly senior citizens, children and abused women.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Woodrow "Woodie" Dyches, Jr.; one daughter, Michelle Page and her husband, Randolph, of Dunwoody, GA; two sons, Woodrow Dyches, III of Bluffton, SC and Christopher Dyches and his wife, Melissa, of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren, Victoria Kohnke, Allison Dyches, Amanda Page, Benjamin Page, Josiah Dyches, Caleb Dyches and Carissa Dyches as well as one great-granddaughter, Eve Kohnke.
A service celebrating Linda's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Reverend Corey Pelton officiating. Burial will follow at Tweed's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you please consider a memorial contribution in Linda's memory to Memory Care, 100 Far Horizons Lane, Asheville, NC 28803 or to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
Linda meant so much to me. Woodie and Linda were such a help to me 12 years ago, during the time when my husband was dying.
One day we will all be together in heaven.
We will always cherish and remember all the good times we had in paradise park. Love and rest in peace.
My heart and prayers are with you and yours.
Gerry Dillon
