  23. Dear Michelle and the rest of the family,
I just heard about the passing of Ms. Linda. She was a very special lady and will definitely be missed by many. She was always a smiling reassuring face at the scorer’s desk when times got a little hectic on the basketball court or on the softball field. Of course her solution was to always ” give the ball to Michelle”. I enjoyed our many conversations and the support she gave me during my short coaching career at TC. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

  24. Linda was a true friend and will be missed more than words can say. She always had that Big bag of candy at all the basketball games and would smile and say you can have some if you don’t call a lot of fouls tonight. To the family, You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you strength and peace

  25. The first day I met Linda I felt I had made a new friend for life. My daughter and her granddaughter rode horses and play volleyball together and so we always had something to talk about. She was an amazing person – always had a smile and a kind word. She adored her family and loved being involved in their activities. My deepest sympathy to the family. Wishing you peace and comfort during this time.

  26. Michelle, Gary, Jerry and family,

  38. Dear Family:
My heart is hurting for you. Linda and I go back to High School. She always was kind, caring and thoughtful. We talked a lot back at Enka High. One of the things we had in common was our love for sports and especially Basketball & Baseball. She was a Hustler on the Basketball Court. Whatever she did she gave it her best. After she graduated we didn’t get to talk much after that. Recently, we began to talk on Messenger and I will say she still was so kind and caring. I discovered how much she loved her children and often asked me to pray for them. And what love she had for her Grandchildren. She always kept me updated about what was going on with each one of them. And it never failed she updated me as well on Helen who she was caring for in a Nursing Home. Her profession as a Nurse proves she was a caring person & loved people. He death reminds me how fragile life is. In the Book of James we are reminded that our life is like a Vapor. I’m glad she assured me she was ready to meet the Lord. Please know I will miss her but not as you will. And the reason you will miss her so much is because of a 4 letter word: L-O-V-E- She loved everyone of you and I know you loved her. Please know that our church family and I will be praying for you during these very hard days. I will close with the words of the Apostle Paul “I thank my God upon every remembrance of her” (Linda). See you soon Linda. Family, may God bless you and give you His peace during these days. You have her in your Heart & in your Memories.

  39. Dear Michelle, Jerry, Gary, and all family members, we were so very sorry to hear of the passing of your precious loved one (Linda). She was a wonderful person and always so full of energy. It was obvious how much
she loved life, and how much she loved family. You were all so very precious to her. We always enjoyed seeing
her in the restaurant and talking to her.She will definitely be missed so very much by so many people, but there is good news in knowing she is now with the Lord, and no more suffering to bear. The coming days will
be hard but you have a Savior who will get you through those times. Please know we will continue to remember you all in our prayers

  40. So sorry for your loss . Linda was so friendly and kind . Loved joking with her . Will be missed . Prayer’s for y’all .

  41. Linda was one of the finest ladies that I have had the privilege to know and work with. She was dedicated to her family and their activities. They were her life. She was dedicated to TCR basketball for many years. That became a huge part of her life, and we are so grateful for her service. She epitomizes the true meaning of “volunteer” – totally about serving others and not self. The world is a better place, and I am a better person, for having known Linda Owenby. We will all miss that constant smile and positive attitude.

  42. Linda was a special lady, she will be missed immensely by all that was fortunate enough to know her. She touched the lives of so many people. I am sorry for your loss.

  43. I had the privilege of seeing Linda for the winter and spring sports at West. Her smiling face and warm heart always showed. She will be missed. Thank you for sharing her with us.

  44. Prayers to all of you! Linda will be missed at both Roberson and West athletic games. I remember during my time at West ; when I helped out with basketball, she would always be there with candy and a huge smile.
