Louis Stephen “Steve” Blankenship, 60, of Asheville, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at St. Joseph Campus.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Anne Taylor Lance of Travelers Rest, SC and the late Christopher Blankenship. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Breanna Brooke Blankenship. He worked as a welder with IMSCO.
In addition to his mother, survivors include two daughters, Andrea Conner and husband Robert of Clyde and Lisa Wallace and husband Mike of Travelers Rest; two sons, Jamie Blankenship and wife Kisha of Shelbyville, TN and Stephen Blankenship and wife Heather of Bryson City; two sisters, Joyce Dayton of Asheville and Linda Gosnell of Lakeland, FL; five grandchildren, Zachary, Lennon, Aaron, Brandon and Taylor; and Steve's fiancee, Ruth Riddle.
Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. His family will receive friends following the service.
Interment with family and close friends will be held at Academy Cemetery.
