Mauldin, SC - Louise Dunlap Coffey, 50, of 7 Napa Court, Mauldin, died unexpectedly at her home Saturday, May 26, 2001.

A native of Fletcher, NC, she was the daughter of Ansel and Melba Nix Dunlap of Fletcher. She was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church and a receptionist for the KPMG accounting firm. Louise was on the Board of Directors and secretary of the Greenville Harley Owners Assn. and on the Board of the South Carolina State Harley Owners Assn.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, William H. “Bill” Coffey; her son, Monty Coffey of Charlotte, NC and her brother, Rev. Philip Dunlap of Fletcher.

A graveside service will be held in Fletcher, NC at 11 am Tuesday at Shepherd Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Philip Dunlap. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Harley Owners Assn.

Her family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road, Arden, NC.

  1. Bill and Monty: Louise was a very special person; she will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing her. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.

  2. My heartfelt sympathy to Louise’s family. We are all going to miss her terribly. She was one of my favorite people. She always made me laugh and feel good no matter what was going on. Nothing but good memories will be in my heart of her forever.

  3. Even though I live so far away, I think about my family often. Know that I love each one of you with all my heart! It seems as you get older its inevitable familes dwindle apart. But they always stay close in the heart.
    I remember Louise at Granny’s and the Easter Egg hunts. She was always the oldest there and boy were those eggs hard to find! But it was so much fun. She was also one of the first ones there when my Dad passed away. I will always love her and miss her.

    It was with the utmost sadness that we learned of Louise’s death. We send you our deepest and sincere sympathy during this sad and tragic time. I hope it helps in some small way to know that we are holding you close to our hearts in prayers and thoughts. It is hard to think of any Harley event and not think of Louise. She was always there to lend a hand and help in any way she could. Bill and Monty it was apparent how much she loved you both.     to meet her and talk with her
    several times. She was always
    helpful and very nice to me.

  45. Bill and Monty – I was so saddened to hear about Louise. She was so sweet to me and my family. I always felt close to Louise and knew that she genuinely cared about me. I wish I could have been at the service, but I am currently on assignment in England. I came home during Easter holiday this year and went into the KPMG office and had a nice visit with Louise. As usual, she made me feel right at home, as if I had never moved away. I will miss our talks and her way of making me and my family feel special.
