Louise Vance Hollifield, 88, of Candler, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe County, Louise was born May 30, 1936, to the late William Edgar and Beatrice Soesbee Vance. She was preceded in death by her husband of fourteen years Hubert Elijah Hollifield Jr., her brothers William Edgar Vance Jr. and Grover Richard “Dickie” Vance, and her sister Zelpha Letrice Gnann.
Louise loved spending time with family and traveling with them whenever possible. Whether it was during a trip or just around town, she enjoyed reading, going to movie theatres, the beach, fairs, and collecting Swarovski crystal figures. She absolutely loved dogs, especially her dog Max who misses her dearly. Louise had a rewarding career as a skilled banking professional for over thirty years at various banking institutions. During her retirement years, she was able to enjoy those activities more frequently and became a sudoku master who never ran across a puzzle she could not ultimately complete.
She is survived by her two sons, Earl Bell and Vance Bell (Jan); grandchildren, Christy, Laura, Peyton, Alec, Logan, and Lynden; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Riley, and Brayden; and many nieces and nephews.
