Lucille Young Stanberry, 85, of Candler, died on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A Buncombe Co. native, Lucille was a daughter of the late Fred and Geneva Hibberts Young. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Stanberry; daughter, Anita Murray; sister, Phyllis Young; and brothers, William "Bill" Young and Jack Young.
Mrs. Stanberry retired from K-Mart and then served as a foster grandparent through Calvary Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Stanberry and Jennifer Cannariato; son, David Stanberry (Mary); six grandchildren; sisters, Betty Cordell and Joan Young; and brother, Eddie Young.
Mrs. Stanberry's request was that no funeral service be held.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
Susan,Jennifer and David It grieved me to hear of the passing of your mother. She has always been a good sister-in-law to me. She was a good mother to you children and I know you will miss her greatly. God will help you through this and the days to come. I love you all.
I raked with Lucille at Kmart 3253….we laughed and cried together…..God bless you
I worked with Lucille at K-mart 3253(Tunnel Rd) for years she was a great and kind lady. She make me laugh, a lot of days. Those was the good old days. She will be missed.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Lucille, I always liked her very much, she was a sweet lady and very much like her mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
