Margaret C. Walter, 75, 335 Asheville Terrace Apts., died Monday, April 10, 2000 at a local hospital.

Born in Greenville Co., SC, she was a lifelong resident of Asheville and was a daughter of the late Frank and Mamie West Calloway. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edward G. Walter and was a retired employee of Kellwood Clothing Manufacturing.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Wanda Walter of Weaverville, Ronnie and Peggy Walter of Anderson, SC; a sister, Gloria Summey of Anderson, SC; a brother, Charles Calloway of Canton; six grandchildren, Tammy Cloer, Steve Walter, Cheryl Posey, Stacy Pingry, Beth Bowling and Cliff Coon; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Rev. H. L. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with pallbearers being, Jeff Posey, Mitch Pingry, Marlon Summey, Jim Guthrie, Frank Taylor and Chip Cloer.

Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of her son Tommy Walter, 290 Long's Chapel Rd. Weaverville.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
