Margaret King, 80, of Leicester, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Vever King Gregg. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Gregg, and a grandson, Robert King.
Mrs. King worked for Taylor Instruments, and was a member of Leicester Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, A. Sanford King; daughters Debbie Watts and husband Mike, and Sheila Warren and husband David; son Aaron King; grandchildren Joey Gillespie, Josh Gillespie, James Hodge, and Toya Loss; great-great grandchildren Jakob, Josie, and Andrew Gillespie; sisters Ellen Shook and Edith Meece; and brothers Frank, Jimmy, Johnny, and Dale Gregg.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Leicester Baptist Church, with the Revs. David Plemmons, Ricky Wolfe, and Chad Ellege officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Margaret King, known to many as “Granny”, 83, of Beaumont, Texas, died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
A native of Bryson City, she was a longtime resident of North Carolina and Georgia and had lived in Beaumont for the past 18 years.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Kuykendall of Beaumont; a daughter Carolyn Bradford of Chattanooga, TN; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Aunt Margaret is finally at peace. Heaven can expect some fantastic baking now that she has arrived. We will all miss her greatly. My prayers are with Uncle Sanford, and cousins Selia, Debra and Aaron.
