Margaret Lance Lanning

Margaret Lance Lanning, 85, of Asheville died Monday, May 16, 2005 at a local hospital. Mrs. Lanning was born September 12, 1919 in Henderson County to Burgin Pinkey and Blanche Gillespie Lance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lanning. Mrs. Lanning worked in retail sales and formerly resided at the Vanderbilt Apartments for 18 years and most recently at the Magnolia Health Care Center for 2 years. She is survived by a brother, Theron Lance of Arden as well as several neices and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew the Reverend John Robert Nations officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the WNC Chapter of The National Kidney Foundation, 10 McDowell Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
