Margaret McCain Parker

Mrs. Parker was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Andrew T. and Verdie Everhart McCain. She was married to Julius O. “Tobe” Parker, who died in 1995 and was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl McCain of Candler in 1985.

She worked at American Enka for more than 40 years and she was a member of Acton United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Lois McCain and a brother, Howard McCain, both of Asheville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hacklander officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry, Ken, Robert and James McCain, Sam and Julian Parker and Don Sims.

Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
