Margaret Webb Meadows, 90, of Asheville, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, after a brief illness.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late James Franklin and Ida Bell Wells Webb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George F. Meadows, who died in 1974, and a son, Bill Meadows. She was the youngest of ten children.
Mrs. Meadows was a graduate of Leicester High School. She retired from American Enka, and was a member of Bell United Methodist Church.
She is survived by brother-in-law Bob Meadows and wife Sylvia; daughter Judith Ann Gibbs and husband Tom of Weaverville; sons Paul Meadows and wife Debra of Clyde, Tommy Meadows and wife Pansy of Leicester, and Kenneth Meadows and wife Karen of Leicester; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Meadows of Candler; and special friend and caregiver, Margie Blackburn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Bell United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dustin James officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bell United Methodist Church, 17 Mayrand Rd., Leicester, NC 28748.
