Marlin Thomas Grindstaff, 77, of Candler, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024.

A native of Buncombe County, Marlin was a son of the late Boyd Carl Grindstaff and Marie Wallin Grindstaff. He was also preceded in death by 2 siblings.

Marlin was a longstanding member of Glady Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a faithful Deacon. He was dedicated to his Church and to his Savior.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Raper Grindstaff; his sons, Jody Grindstaff (Candy) and David Grindstaff (Charity); grandchildren, Hannah Arrowood (Jackson), Lily Grindstaff, Nathan Grindstaff, Kensington Grindstaff and Willow Grindstaff; great-grandson, Knox Arrowood; brother, Eddie Grindstaff (Gail); sister, Kathy Walker (Lynn); sister-in-law, Lillian Raper; brother-in-law, Glenn Raper, Jr.; and a nephew, Greg.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastors Marvin Watts and David Grindstaff officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
