Martha J. (Graham) Galvan, 54, of Arden, passed away suddenly Monday, August 24, 2020 at Mission Hospital.

Born in Asheville, she was the wife of Ascencion Galvan Salazar of Arden, and the daughter of the late Jamie Marion and Effie Irene (Gasperson) Graham. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Graham and Donald Black.

Martha was a member of New Hendersonville Church of God, Hendersonville.

A selfless woman with a huge heart of gold, Martha was one who lived to serve others. She loved to cook and will be remembered for her large family meals. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter, Cosme and Celeste Galvan of Arden; two brothers, Charles and Earl Graham; her sister Susan Redden and her twin sister, Marcia Graham; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Avery’s Creek Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Steve Morrison officiating. Martha will lie in repose from 11 AM Wednesday until 1:30 PM Thursday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, where friends may view and sign the register book. The family will receive friends at the home in Arden.

  1. I am so shocked and sad to read of Martha’s passing. I have no words, other than I am sending prayers to her family. May God bless and comfort you at this time.

  2. I am saddened to hear of Martha’s passing. As if it were yesterday I can still hear Martha’s words to me, There is no one or nothing on earth worth missing missing heaven for. Martha, enjoy the perfect love and presence of your Savior whom you loved and served faithfully.

  4. Truly blessed to have shared a few years with Martha when she was a teenager at the Fletcher Church Of God. I was in unbelief when I read of her passing but know she’s with her Lord today. My prayers are with her family for comfort and in times of loneliness.

  5. The loss of Martha will be felt by many. May the memories of her wonderful personality and many contributions be celebrated . Such a beautiful soul gone but not forgotten. So many times you would say praise the Lord and I’m not going to let anyone cause me to lose my blessing. You would say you don’t want sadness you want a celebration because you would be with your God. Although your death has sadden me I can still smile knowing that you are with our Father. I can vision the big smile on your face saying I made it. I love you Martha. My deepest condolences to the family.

  6. I worked with Martha for many years at Electrolux. Martha was a very special lady! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  11. I remember Martha from going to church with her at Fletcher Church of God. She and Marsha were so young and a Blessing to me. And then watching her become a beautiful young lady. She married the love of her life. Ascenion. They had the cutest baby ever. Cosme was such a good baby in church. My deepest condolences to Martha’s family. My prayers are with all of you. I was so saddened to hear of her passing. I will always keep her in my heart and memories. .
