Mary Alice Kent Chambers

Mary Alice Kent Chambers, 76, of Asheville, NC went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2026 surrounded by her family.

She was a devoted housewife and a loving mother. She enjoyed being an active role model to her grandchildren. She had a very talented mind dedicated to crafting, quilting, sewing and genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Butch” Chambers, whom she devoted her life to, as well as her parents, Dolman Kent and Betty Redmond.

She is survived by her three children; Gena Willix (Jason), Brandy Parlier (Mark), and Joseph Chambers (Brea); six grandchildren, Chase Warren, Coastal Warren, Violet Chambers, Paisley Chambers, Dalton Chambers and Mark Parlier, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Theodore Parlier; five siblings, Roger, Peppy, Jimmy, Vicky, and Penny – as well as many other extended family.

She loved her family and will be dearly missed.

Services are planned for Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
