Mary Alice Webb Meadows, 84, of Pine Lane, Asheville, died on Monday, December 21, 2009, at her home. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Meadows retired from Ball Corp. as a glass inspector, and was also an Avon representative for over 30 years. She was a member of Inanda Baptist Church. Mrs. Meadows is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles L. Meadows; daughters, Judy Havner, of Knoxville, TN, Susan Funderud and husband Don, of Asheville; Pamela Crain and husband Dennis, of Las Vegas, NV, and Cindy Martin and husband David, of Leicester; sons, Charles Thomas Meadows, of Candler, and Richard Dale Meadows, of Myrtle Beach, SC; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. One grandson preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel, in Black Mountain. Interment will follow in the cemetery. Her family will be at the home, 23 Pine Lane, Asheville, NC 28806, to receive friends. Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  5. Dear Cindy & Family, I was so sad to read of your Mother’s death. She was always smiling & cheerful whenever I saw her visiting your home over the many years that we were neighbors. I remember her having fun at your yard sales & how she enjoyed George Strait in his movie ‘Pure Country’. My prayers are with you all & especially your dad who shared 68 years of marriage. How wonderful!
