Mary Ann King Rogers, 60, of 705 Pole Creasman Rd., Asheville, found peace with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2007. She left this world with her family close by her side in the comfort of her own home after her second battle with cancer. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend. She was a daughter of the late James Wiley King and Thelma Pauline Almond King, of Marble, NC. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Alowayne Newhouse. Those left here to cherish her memory are her husband and life long love, Jerry Ray Rogers; daughters, Susan Rogers Anderson and Sandra Rogers, both of Asheville; her son, Jerry Ray Rogers, Jr. and his wife Beth, of New Jersey; three beautiful grandchildren who were her pride and joy, granddaughter, Bristol Emily Thelma Anderson, 15, of Asheville, grandson, Gavin James Rogers, 8, of New Jersey, and granddaughter, Emily Paige Rogers, 4, of New Jersey. Also, four sisters and a brother all of whom she loved dearly: Pauline Pendergrass, of Andrews, Audrey Martin, of Smyrna, GA, Sue Rogers, of Asheville, and Faye Rowlett of Marble, and Ray King, of Los Angeles, CA, and sister by marriage, Louise Rogers Morgan, of Marble, as well as an abundance of very close and dear friends. After retiring from Ford Motor Credit Company, she enjoyed time with her family and friends, especially her wonderful grandchildren and flower gardening/landscaping with the love of her life, Jerry. She will now plant flowers in heaven for the rest of us to enjoy someday. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at New Morgan Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Houston officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 p.m. Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
