Mary Ballew Mallory, 73, formerly of N. Louisiana Ave., Asheville, died Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at a local nursing home.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Roy James and Hannah Lee Boone Ballew. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Asheville.
She is survived by her husband , O.C. Mallory of Asheville; two daughters, Sandra Lee Snyder and her husband Rev. Larry Snyder of Sunrise, FL and Rebecca Ann Attig and her husband Rev. Larry Attig of Palm Bay, FL; one sister, Juanita Teague of Milwaukee, WI; two brothers, Albert Ballew of Sun City West, AZ and Arthur Ballew of Candler; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Friday, January 11, 2002, at the First Church of the Nazarene. Isaiah 40:28-31
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, % O.C. Mallory, 583 N. Louisiana Avenue #17, Asheville, NC 28806 to help victims of the World Trade Center disaster.
I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to O.C. and the family at the loss of Mary. I worked with Mary a number of years at Misison Hospital and have very fnd memories of her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
