Bunnell, Florida - Mary Brooks Baker Wallace, 87, a former resident of Mills River, died Sunday, September 17, 2006 in Florida. A native of Mayton, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Susie Story Winstead. Mrs. Wallace was a retired supervisor with the Olin Chemical Corp. She was a very faithful former member of Boylston Baptist Church for over 30 years, serving as church secretary and choir director. She has been a resident of Florida for the past 20 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Flagler Beach, serving as church secretary there. In 2003, Flagler Baptist Church honored her with the Mary Wallace Appreciation Day. She also was a member of the Hammock Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid bowler and fisherman. She is survived by her husband, G.L. Wallace of Palm Coast, Fla.; daughter, Carolyn Holifield of Palm Coast; three grandchildren, DeWayne Heatherly of Palm Coast, Tammi Brooks of Baldwin, Fla. and Cayla Lockhart of Wilmington, NC; three great grandchildren, Amber, Maeggan and Tara Brooks and two sisters, Agnes Hollingsworth of Terry, Miss., and Tiny Ferguson of Gulfport, Miss. Services were held at 4:00 pm Friday, September 22, 2006, at the Boylston Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jerald Willingham. Interment and a Monarch Butterfly release followed in the church cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Flagler Beach in Flagler Beach, Florida.
