Mary Cole Gossett, 82, formerly of 3 Fieldcrest Circle, Asheville, died Saturday, March 13, 2004.
Mrs. Gossett was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Robinson Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Curtis Gossett, who died May 6, 2000, and by a sister, Mable Sluder. She was a member of Deaverview Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, John W. Gossett and his wife Elaine of Leicester; two grandchildren, Tanya Ball and her husband Ronnie and John W. Gossett, Jr., all of Leicester; and a brother-in-law, George Q. Sluder of Penderlea, NC.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating.

I learned to love Ms. Mary from the care facility. My mother was just one room above her. She always had a smile and a hello. She was a jewel. She will be deeply missed.
