Arden~ Mary Elizabeth Zachary Holcombe Ferguson, 86, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she was daughter of the late Raymond and Nell Knight Zachary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Holcombe who died in 1981. After retiring from Ingles, she worked at Biltmore Village Dolls for nineteen years. Mrs. Ferguson was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Surviving are seven daughters, Marie Constance and her husband, Sam of Columbus, June Brendle of Asheville, Linda Adams and her husband, James of Hendersonville, Kit Robertson and her husband, Tommy of Asheville, Jackie Coulby and her husband, Bill of Arden, Becky Parris and her husband, Mike of Etowah and Gwen Dudgeon and her husband, Bobby of Independence, Kentucky. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Mrs. Ferguson will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at Green Hills Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
