Mary Leva Davis

Mary Leva Davis, 79, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born August 27, 1944, to the late Ray and Gladys Howell.

She lived most of her life in Asheville, NC, where she graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School. She and her late husband, Scottie, were married for 51 years. She was the mother of two. She will be remembered as witty, and often humorous. She was undoubtedly the biggest Carolina fan that ever watched the game.

She is survived by her brother, “Junior” Ray; her daughter, Melissa Young and husband Donald Young; son, Jason and wife Laura; and grandsons, Caleb and Atticus Young.

She will be honored and laid to rest with her late husband at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, in Black Mountain, NC, on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. The Rev. Phillip Hurst will officiate.

Heavenly father, as we celebrate the life of Mary, we are comforted to know her physical illness has been put to rest as she joins you in your eternal kingdom. We are more grateful for the love which is greater than death. Help us to bear our sorrow, as we move forward, one day at a time. We rejoice in your promise of joy, love, and peace, Amen.
