Max Steve Herren

Max Steve Herren, 58, of 326 Hookers Gap Road, Candler, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at his home. Mr. Herren was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Max J. and Ruth Baldwin Herren. He was a 1965 graduate of Enka High School and was a former employee of WNC Pallet Co. and of Days Inn. Most recently he was associated with Bruce Trull’s Saw Mill. He was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Herren of Swannanoa; a son, Farrell E. Herren of Asheville; a sister, Deborah Lynn Reece of Candler; a brother, Rudy W. Herren of Fayetteville, GA; and a grandson, Jeffrey David Capps. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Neil Haynes officiating. His family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon immediately following the service.
