Max Steve Herren, 58, of 326 Hookers Gap Road, Candler, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Herren was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Max J. and Ruth Baldwin Herren. He was a 1965 graduate of Enka High School and was a former employee of WNC Pallet Co. and of
Days Inn. Most recently he was associated with Bruce Trull’s Saw Mill. He was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Herren of
Swannanoa; a son, Farrell E. Herren of Asheville; a sister, Deborah Lynn Reece of Candler; a brother, Rudy W. Herren of Fayetteville, GA; and a grandson, Jeffrey David Capps.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with
the Rev. Dr. Neil Haynes officiating.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon immediately following the
service.
Memorials may be made to the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 84 Snow Hill
Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.

STEVE WAS VERY MUCH LOVED IN OUR COMMUNITY,ALWAYS HELPING OTHERS WHEN HE WAS NEEDED,,CARING FOR SOME ELDER PEOPLE’S YARDS IN THE COMMUNITY….ESP LULA RASH…HE WILL BE MISSED BY THOSE WHO KNEW HIM ..MAY HIS MEMORY LIVE ON IN OUR HEARTS..MY SON TONY WHO IS A MISSIONARY TO ALASKA ALSO SENDS HIS SYMPATHY…AND LOVE TO HIS FAMILY…MAY HE NEVER BE FORGOTTEN IN OUR HEARTS..CHERISH HIS MEMORIES THEY ARE FOREVER…JEAN AND FAMILY….
