Melissa Anne Wilson, 56, of Gerton, NC, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Born October 6, 1968 in Burnsville, NC, Melissa was a daughter of Martha Anne Basnight and of the late Ferrel Wilson. She worked as an administrator in child development education.

In addition to her mother, Melissa is survived by daughters, Crystal Kurtz and Delilah Kurtz; son, Philip Colwell; 7 grandchildren; sister, Heather Schwock (Brian); and brothers, Thomas Basnight (Kimberly) and Dillon Wilson (Jennifer).

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
