  3. So Sorry for your loss. Mike was a classmate of mine and very well liked and respected. Praying for your family

  4. Mike was a very kind hearted, gentle man. A dedicated co-worker @ U.S. Probation. My thoughts and prayers are extended to the entire Roberts Family. I pray you are comforted by the One who loves us so dearly. Know that many are praying for your strength. God is a very present help, in a time of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

  5. Dear Family, although I do not know any of you personally, I considered Mike a very good friend. I retired from SC Probation, Pardon, and Parole Services in 2010. I was a Licensed Professional Counselor and Credentialed Addictions Counselor. I first came to know Mike back in the 1990’s. Mike was a true professional in every way. He had a difficult and often thankless job of working with criminal offenders. As an agent, first with the state and then federal government, Mike had the unique ability to hold offenders accountable while under his supervision, but he also had the unique characteristic of caring about offenders under his watch. He worked with them to change lives. I know that his loss is sudden and shocking. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May God grant you peace in this troubling time.

  6. I was just at a funeral of a friend yesterday. Then I saw what Wes posted. So, very shocked, way too young !! But God needed an Angel back!! Mike you were a great guy, from the first time I met you, you were always smiling!! I pray for comfort for all of your family and friends. It isn’t bye, but rather, I’ll see you later. Tanya

  7. Mike was my Y buddy for over 20 years. He loved his family, friends and his sport. A better man, I’ve never known. We should always remember his laugh and his smile. His love was larger than his stature, and Mike was a big man! Much love to his family.

  9. To the Roberts family, from grammar school at St Joan of Arc to South French Broad and Asheville High, our ties to each other have always been. We have been an unspoken family. I am so saddened by this news. I can hear him laughing like we were at the Bazaar at S.J.A .(40 + years ago) outside being mischievous, to seeing that big smile on his face roaming the halls at Asheville High. Mike was and is one of the greatest guys you will ever want to meet. You all know that we the Demetris family know your pain all too well. There are no words to fill the loss. There is no rhyme or reason or how and why now. I can only tell you that God is your answer. He will strengthen you. Trust in him to heal you and your hearts. Listen to all the people Mike has touched throughout the years with his love, laughter and that Smile. We were all so blessed to be a part of his journey here on earth. As saddened as I am to hear this news for all of us left behind I am elated to know that my brothers Brian and Bruce Demetris will be getting one of their most favorite class mates Mike Roberts to laugh and cut up with in heaven. You know those are three Angels that will be looking out for all of us. Smile that Big Smile for Mike every time you think of him and know the love that your brother spread to so so many people here on earth was infectious. I pray that GOD will soften your sorrows and guide you through this difficult time. From that little tiny grammar school at St. Joan of Arc our family were and will always be connected through love and God. May God Bless all of you.
