Mills River - Michael Joseph Peery, 20, of Forge Valley Dr. passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. He was born May 5, 1993 to Doug and Maggie Peery. He is also survived by his sister, Katelyn Peery; maternal grandmother, Nancy Mae Clark; girlfriend, Camillia Brogden; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Michael was a graduate of West Henderson High School, and an avid player and fan of baseball, football, and basketball. Funeral services for Michael Peery will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, 72 Long Shoals Rd, Arden. His family will receive friends following the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Groce Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

  8. Michael was one of my best friends since the eighth grade. He always knew how to light up a room and put people in good moods. I am so sorry for the loss of your amazing son but he will live on in our hearts forever.   41. From one mother to another, from one parent to another, I can’t imagine your pain. Michael was a very sweet young man and was a best friend to my nephew Brandon for many years. I remember when he came to Tennessee with Brandon and Seth and spent the night at my house, he made us all laugh half the night. You could just see that he was raised to be respectful and kind. I thank God for Michael and his time hear on earth and for all the lives he touched with his big heart. He will be missed by so many.
